The Fallen Knight
Chapter I (Part 4)
---

Several days had passed since Kira Carsen was captured operating on Manaan. Kira's actions on Manann had cost the Selkath, their city was destroyed, countless lives were lost, and the medical material, Kolto, was now being harvested from the surface by the Eternal Empire, denying the Republic access to the much needed medical supplies.

Alone on Vaylin's personal ship, on a voyage to an unknown destination, Kira had no contact with the outside, other than High Justice Vaylin and those who accompany her during frequent savage interrogation sessions of her. Scared by the last meeting with her captors, Kira suffered endless hours of torture at the hands of Vaylin, though she gave Vaylin no information. In the back of her mind, she suspected Vaylin's real purpose for torturing her was merely for amusement, or a lust to inflict pain, but regardless of how much defiance Kira showed, Vaylin's assaults continued.

Expecting Vaylin to return at any moment, Kira, crouching in pain against the cold metal walls of her cell, Kira moved to the bed, laying down, turning her back towards the cell entrance. As Kira drifted into darkness, her mind focused on the hum of the energy barrier surrounding her cell, finding comfort in the low pitched humming, Kira, finally relaxed, Kira gave into her exhaustion, falling asleep, hoping to regain her strength.

Kira's mind flooded with memories of her prior adventures, Tython, Balmorra, Taris, worlds she had visited when she journeyed the galaxy with those who worked with the Hero of Tython, Doc, Rusk, T7, Scourge, and even C2-N2. With the absence of their leader, Kira tried to keep the group together, but as the Eternal Empire continued its brutal attack on the Republic, the crew began to drift apart. Tormented by her failure to keep her people united Kira's mind became distracted to one of the earlier battles.

The day after the incident on Darth Marr's destroyer. Kira and the rest of the crew were on board the Republic command ship Reliance; the Republic was sending a fleet into the area of space searching for those who went missing during the cooperation between the Empire and Republic, while simultaneously the Sith Empire had also dispatched its own fleet to search for Darth Marr.

"Oh? this isn't going to go well," Kira said as she gazed at the Sith Fleet, "Leave the talking to me, Commander."

As one would expect when the Sith Empire and Republic encounter, the two fleets clashed almost immediately, accusing the other of the attacks on their remote outposts, and the disappearance of Darth Marr and the Hero of Tython. Neither side believed Kira as she protested the events of Rishi, Yavin, and Ziost. The Sith commander spat on the idea of a dark lord of the council working with the Jedi to combat the Sith Emperor.

"You're both pathetic!" Kira screamed, "There is something out there! Darth Marr's destroyer was torn to pieces within minutes!"

"So you claim, Jedi." The Sith Commander said, "Your story had been entertaining, but I suspect this is nothing more than another Republic deception to catch our people off-guard."

"This is no trick! Both the Empire and Republic will fall if we don't-"

"After the unforgivable damage your Republic caused to Ziost, The Sith Empire is motivated more than ever to crush the Republic,"  The Sith Commander said interrupting Kira, "I will not hear any more of this tale of a coalition!"

Sighing Kira turned to the Republic Commander.
 "What about the Republic?"

"Survivors recovered in the area have been able to confirm some of your claims, but when questioned by the Senate the Jedi refused to comment on the matter, even your Grand Master declined to comment on the Ziost incident."

Kira waved her arms into the air.
"So neither the Republic or the Sith Empire will listen?!"

Kira's mind again shifted to events that occurred during that day, while the two fleets were focused on one another, they were left exposed to the arrival of the Eternal Empire. As both the Sith and Republic fleets maneuvered themselves to face the new arrivals, the Eternal Fleet a constant barrage of weapons fire destroying the first Sith ship almost immediately.

"Still think I'm making this up?" Kira exclaimed to the Republic Commander, "Those ships look very real to me!"

"They must have followed us!" Doc said as he watched the barrage of lights claim a second Sith cruiser.

"We've got to get out of here! Get the others; we need to get out of here!" Kira yelled to yelled to Doc as she watched the Eternal Fleet hammer down several more ships.

Kira's mind drifted to a point when she was wounded during the ongoing fight with the Eternal Empire; the Reliance had been boarded, robotic intruders flooded the ship, hundreds of metal menaces marched through the corridors killing all those who opposed them.

Kira's mind started to drift again, this time to the wielder of a yellow lightsaber, a woman, Human, carving up the ship's crew, throwing them around as if they were ragdolls. Kira focused her thoughts on the figure, as she continued her impressive display of brutality, Kira found herself within inches of the attacker, her gray robes obstructed her face as she turned to face Kira. Leaning towards Kira, the figure raised her hand, gently asking her a question.
"Sleeping are we?" the voice said, chuckling with a menacing tone.

Kira gasped for air, as she shot up from the bed to find Vaylin and a pair of knights looming over her.
"I don't remember telling you to relax," Vaylin said. "Were you dreaming of a happy place? Maybe somewhere with a beach?"

"I think I was on Nar Shadda." Kira looked at Vaylin, letting out a smirk. "You were there; I didn't know you worked for the Hutts."

"I'm not sure whether I should be flattered or insulted," Vaylin said raising an eyebrow, "You've got your confidence back though - I'll have to fix that before we arrive."

"Are you going to tell me where we're going this time? or will I have to settle for your complaining again?" Kira asked.

"Oh, you'll find out soon enough." Vaylin said, turning her back to Kira, "I have something for you today."

Curious, Kira paused for thought for a moment. "No thanks, I don't need those kinds of images running around my brain."

"Consider yourself lucky you have one," Vaylin said as she paced around the room. "If the decision were mine, you would be hanging on the wall in my room."

"Aww, Is that how you make friends?" Kira mockingly questioned to Vaylin, "You must be great at parties."

Annoyed by Kira's confidence, Vaylin stepped towards Kira, raising her hand above Kira's head.
"Let's see how long you last this time, shall we?" Vaylin said as she lifted Kira off the ground.
"It would be a real shame for you to die now," Vaylin said smiling at Kira, "I have such a surprise for you when we reach our destination."

Vaylin just can't break Kira, can she?
